What a combined protocol includes

A combined protocol joins two to four procedures from the clinic's menu into one plan with its own price. Each procedure keeps its own safety rules, and the one with the longest recovery sets the pace of the plan.

The doctor decides at consultation whether a protocol suits you, how many visits it takes and what the final cost is. Every protocol is also listed in the price list.

How a protocol is planned

Everything is planned at one consultation: which procedures suit your skin, in what order they go, and whether they fit into one visit or need separate appointments.

Some timings come from the procedures themselves:

  • MOXI and BBL run on the same Sciton MJoule platform and are often combined in one visit.
  • HELEO4 LED is used immediately after microneedling, a peel or laser to calm the skin.
  • Morpheus8 plans usually run about three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.
  • Collagen stimulators usually need two or three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.
  • Ultraformer MPT is usually one session, with the result judged at around three months.
  • Endolift is usually one session per area; a second is considered no earlier than a year later.
  • Exosome sessions for hair usually repeat monthly across a short course.

Separate visits matter most where an injectable (biorevitalization, Radiesse, Sculptra, Juvelook, Xela Rederm) and heat (Ultraformer MPT, Volnewmer, Morpheus8, Endolift) work on the same area. The doctor sets the visit plan for your protocol.

Why BBL and biorevitalization are paired for pigmentation is explained in our article on facial pigmentation treatment with BBL and biorevitalisation.

Anti-age programmes

At MED YU MED an anti-age programme is built as a combined protocol: the doctor combines procedures for skin tone and texture, for lifting and contour and for skin quality, and sets the order and the intervals at one consultation. See also LED light therapy as a maintenance step between visits.

Step by step: from consultation to aftercare

  1. Consultation

The doctor reviews your goals, skin and medical history, checks for contraindications and recent procedures, and chooses the protocol and its variant. The final price is confirmed at this visit.

  2. Preparation

Stop topical retinoids, scrubs and acid or enzyme products at least 48 hours before the first visit, and avoid waxing the treatment area for 48 hours. Avoid sun, tanning and self-tanner for at least a week, or for two weeks before PicoSure. Tell the doctor about isotretinoin, photosensitising medicines such as doxycycline or St John's wort, anticoagulants, implants, fillers or threads, and cold sores: antiviral cover is usually started before a facial peel or laser.

  3. Treatment

Procedures follow the order in your visit plan. Each one is performed as described on its own page, with settings matched to your skin type. The doctor confirms the order, the number of visits and the session length at consultation.

  4. Aftercare

Follow the strictest aftercare among the procedures in your protocol: daily SPF and shade, no saunas, hot baths or strenuous exercise while the skin settles, no retinoids or acids until the skin has settled, and home massage after a collagen stimulator to the doctor's schedule. The clinic gives written aftercare.

When to expect results

A protocol follows the timeline of its slowest procedure, so the result is judged at a planned review, not after the first visit. Results vary between individuals, and no outcome is guaranteed.

  • HydraFacial: skin usually looks cleaner and more hydrated after a single session, and the glow usually holds for about five to seven days.
  • BBL: treated pigment darkens and flakes off over one to two weeks; redness fades more gradually.
  • Peels: skin usually looks brighter within days, once flaking finishes.
  • Biorevitalization: skin usually looks more hydrated within a week or two.
  • MOXI: skin often looks brighter within days, with tone and texture refining over the following weeks.
  • PicoSure for pigment: spots often darken first, then lighten over the following weeks.
  • Ultraformer MPT and Endolift: the lift builds over two to three months.
  • Morpheus8 and collagen stimulators: the change builds over three to six months.
  • Exosomes for hair: new growth shows over several months, and published human evidence is preliminary.

Lifting protocols firm and contour; they do not replace a surgical facelift. Very loose skin may need a surgical opinion, and the doctor raises this at consultation.

The doctor sets the review point for your protocol.

Recovery and aftercare

Recovery after a protocol lasts at least as long as recovery after its most demanding procedure.

  • Endolift: swelling, bruising and tenderness for one to two weeks, with firm areas along the treated tracks for several weeks. Avoid intense heat, saunas and strenuous exercise for about a week.
  • Morpheus8: redness, warmth and a faint grid pattern for one to three days; skip makeup for about a day.
  • MOXI: a flush for a few hours to a day, then a fine sandpaper texture and light bronzing for two to three days.
  • Ultraformer MPT: flushing or tenderness for a few hours, occasionally a day; tingling or numbness can take a week or two to fade.
  • Collagen stimulators: mild swelling, tenderness and the odd bruise for a day or two. Home massage to the doctor's schedule is part of the protocol.
  • Biorevitalization: small bumps at the injection points usually flatten within 24 to 72 hours and can stay visible for up to a week.
  • Peels: from a day or two of light flaking to several days of peeling, depending on depth.
  • BBL: flushing for a few hours; treated spots darken and flake off over several days.
  • Fotona: little or none after gentle modes, several days of redness and flaking after Er:YAG resurfacing.
  • PicoSure for pigment and exosomes: redness or a warm flush for a few hours to a day or two.
  • HydraFacial, LED, Volnewmer and INDIBA: little or no downtime.

In the Dubai climate. After peels and laser, fresh skin burns and pigments faster than usual, and here the sun is a factor all year. Use SPF every morning, reapply it through the day and keep to the shade; after a peel, plan sun protection for at least two weeks.

When to contact us urgently

  • Call MED YU MED on +971 52 184 5011 (daily 10:00–22:00) if you develop a blister, a burn or an open area of skin, pain that increases rather than eases, redness and heat spreading beyond the treated area, discharge or fever, or a cold sore.
  • After injections, call at once if you notice blanching or a white, dusky or net-like patch of skin, coldness of the area, pain stronger than expected, or a lump that is hot, red or growing at any time. A collagen stimulator cannot be dissolved, so this is managed urgently.
  • After Ultraformer MPT, call if a raised ridge appears along a treated line, numbness spreads or persists, or the face droops or looks uneven.
  • After Endolift, call if pain increases after the second day.
  • With any change in vision, or outside our opening hours, go to the nearest emergency department or call 998 for an ambulance.

Combined protocols: frequently asked questions

How much does a combined protocol cost in Dubai?

Combined protocols at MED YU MED cost from 2900 AED for HydraFacial + BBL + Heleo4 LED to 19600 AED for Endolift + Morpheus8 + Juvelook on the full abdomen. Some packages cost less than the same procedures booked separately: VOLFORMER from 4900 AED instead of 6000 AED, Volnewmer + Ultraformer MPT + Radiesse 7900 AED instead of 9000 AED, MOXI + BBL 3600 AED instead of 3900 AED, Morpheus8 + MOXI 4860 AED instead of 5400 AED, and Fotona Hair Growth + Exosomes 3000 AED instead of 3400 AED. The doctor confirms the protocol and exact price at consultation.

Are all procedures of a protocol done on the same day?

Not always. Some procedures are made to go together: MOXI and BBL are often combined in one visit, and LED is used straight after laser, microneedling or a peel. Protocols that pair an injectable with heat on the same area, or include Endolift, may need separate visits. The doctor sets the visit plan for your protocol at consultation.

Who performs the procedures?

Injections are performed by a doctor. Device and laser treatments are performed by DHA-licensed practitioners of MED YU MED within their licence. Each licence can be checked on the DHA Sheryan portal.

Can I have a protocol in summer?

Yes, with planning. BBL, laser and peels leave skin more prone to burning and pigmentation, and in Dubai the sun is a factor all year, so daily SPF and shade are part of the treatment. Recent tanning postpones light-based procedures until the doctor reviews your skin.

Are protocols suitable for darker skin?

Some are, with conservative settings. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the main risk on skin types IV to VI, which are common in Dubai, and it can take months to fade. Protocols with BBL are not done on skin types V and VI in their current form; the doctor suggests another method.

How is a protocol different from booking the procedures separately?

The procedures are the same as on their own pages. A protocol is planned at one consultation, with the order, the intervals and the recovery set in advance, and it has its own price in the price list.

What should I know about exosomes in the hair protocol?

No exosome product is approved as a medicine by the FDA or the EMA for any skin or hair indication. On 6 December 2019 the FDA issued a public safety notification after reports of serious adverse events in patients treated with unapproved products marketed as containing exosomes. Published human evidence is preliminary, and the doctor explains these limits before you decide.

Do you offer anti-age programmes?

Yes. At MED YU MED an anti-age programme is a combined protocol chosen by the doctor from the options in the price table on this page, for example BBL + Biorevitalization + Peeling + LED (4350 AED), Volnewmer + Biorevitalization (5600 AED) or Fotona Skin Rejuvenation + Biorevitalization (4100 AED). The plan, the order and the intervals are set at the consultation, and the final cost depends on the treatment area, the products selected and the number of sessions.
