Thermage FLX. Both devices are monopolar radiofrequency systems working at 6.78 MHz, and the FDA 510(k) summary for Volnewmer names Thermage FLX as its predicate device. The documented differences are maximum power (115 W for Volnewmer, 400 W for Thermage FLX) and surface cooling (continuous water cooling for Volnewmer, cryogen gas for Thermage FLX). Predicate status refers to the cleared electrosurgical indication and technology, not to lifting results, and this page does not claim that either device works better.

In a study of 30 Korean women followed for one month, mid-cheek lifting measured 1.88 mm immediately after one session and 1.93 mm one month later (Kim, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open, 2024); the protocol included a stem cell medium applied to the skin, so the result cannot be attributed to the device alone. Skin tightening is not an FDA-cleared indication for this device, and results vary.
Downtime is minimal rather than absent. Warmth can leave a faint flush for a short while; it settles, and normal activity resumes immediately. No needles means no marks and no wound care. Use daily SPF, and keep your usual skincare gentle for the rest of the day while the skin settles.
Risks and side effects. Monopolar radiofrequency heats tissue through the skin, so the risks are thermal. Expected: flushing and warmth for a short while, occasionally mild swelling or tenderness. Less common but important: burns and blistering, prolonged redness, pigment change, and loss of fat in the treated area, which shows as hollowing rather than lifting. The treatment is not compatible with an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator anywhere in the body, not only in the treatment area, and metal implants, permanent fillers, threads or facial implants in the area change the plan — declare them. Volnewmer does not replace a surgical lift, and the effect is long-lasting rather than permanent.
When to contact us urgently. Call MED YU MED on +971 52 184 5011 (daily 10:00–22:00) if you develop a blister or an open area of skin, a burn, pain that increases rather than eases after the first day, redness and heat spreading beyond the treated area, discharge or fever, or a dark or white patch of skin that was not there before. Eye pain or any change in vision after a treatment near the eyes needs assessment the same day.
