What we are, and what we are not
MED YU MED is an aesthetic medicine clinic with doctors who hold dermatology in their qualifications, working under DHA licence 6589480. That defines both what we do well and where we stop.
We work with conditions where the instrument is a device, an injection or a topical protocol and the target is the appearance, quality and comfort of skin. We do not perform biopsies, we do not remove pigmented lesions, and we do not manage severe systemic skin disease. Those need a hospital dermatology department with a histopathology service behind it.
If a mole has changed, that appointment is not with us. A pigmented lesion that has altered in shape, colour or size, started bleeding or itching, or simply looks different from your others needs assessment where the tissue can be examined under a microscope. We will look, tell you plainly what we think and refer you — booking a cosmetic procedure over an unexamined lesion is the one mistake in this field that cannot be undone.
What our doctors treat, and where to read the detail

Worth saying about the phrase «best dermatologist in Dubai», which is what most people type: no clinic can honestly award itself that. What you can check is the individual licence, the specialisation and whether the first appointment ends with a diagnosis or with a package.
What Dubai does to skin
Four patterns fill our appointment book, and all four are shaped by the climate rather than by anything exotic.
- Pigmentation — ultraviolet works here all year, not only in summer, and heat drives melanin independently of light.
- Rosacea and redness — forty-degree afternoons and the constant swing between outdoor heat and heavy air conditioning.
- Acne — sweat and sunscreen sitting on the skin all day, plus a barrier disturbed by hard water and frequent flying.
- Hair shedding — commonly three to four months after relocation, when the body catches up with the stress of the move.
Recognising the local pattern shortens the diagnosis, which is the main advantage of seeing someone who works in this climate every day.
When to book, and when to go to a hospital instead

Questions people ask
How much does a dermatologist cost in Dubai?
At MED YU MED a dermatological consultation is 300 AED and a trichological assessment on the Hive Pro device is 500 AED. Across the city consultations typically run from around 250 to 800 AED depending on the clinic and the doctor’s seniority. What matters more than the fee is whether the appointment ends with a diagnosis or with a treatment package.
Which is the best dermatologist in Dubai?
There is no single answer, and any clinic claiming the title about itself is advertising. The useful question is who is right for your problem: hair loss, acne, pigmentation and suspicious moles each favour different experience. Three of our doctors have dermatology in their qualifications — Dr. Alina Lebedeva, Dr. Fariza Dzgoeva and Dr. Ilias Dautov.
Do you remove moles?
No. Pigmented lesions that need assessment or removal belong with a dermato-oncologist or a hospital dermatology department where the tissue can be examined histologically. If you come to us with a changing mole, you will leave with a referral rather than a procedure — and that is the correct outcome.
Can you treat psoriasis or eczema?
Mild presentations can be assessed and supported here, and the doctor will say what helps the skin barrier. Moderate to severe disease needs systemic treatment, monitoring and sometimes biologics — that is hospital dermatology, not an aesthetic clinic, and we refer rather than improvise.
What can you actually treat here?
Conditions where the tool is a device or an injection and the goal is the skin’s appearance and quality: acne and post-acne, rosacea and facial redness, pigmentation, scars, hair loss, warts, nail fungus, vascular lesions and skin ageing. Each has its own protocol and its own price, published on this site.
Do I need a referral or insurance?
No referral is needed — you can book a consultation directly. Aesthetic procedures are generally not covered by insurance in the UAE, and we quote self-pay prices openly on the price list so there is no discovery moment at reception.
What happens at the first appointment?
The doctor takes a history, examines the skin under proper light, and where relevant uses dermatoscopy or the Hive Pro for scalp assessment. You leave with a diagnosis, a plan with the number of sessions and the total cost, and — where it applies — a referral to a specialty we do not cover.
Which skin problems get worse in Dubai?
Four come up constantly: pigmentation, because ultraviolet works year round; rosacea, triggered by heat and the swing between outdoors and air conditioning; acne, from sweat under sunscreen and a barrier disturbed by hard water; and hair shedding after relocation. None of them is exotic, but the local pattern is different from what people are used to.
Do you treat children?
Our protocols are for adults. Paediatric skin conditions need a paediatric dermatologist, and we will point you to one rather than adapt an adult protocol.
How soon can I be seen?
Usually within a few days, and often the same week. The clinic is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 at Bluewaters Island, and you can book by phone, WhatsApp or through the site.
