Priced by the size of the scar, not by the promise
A 1 by 5 cm scar and a 10 by 10 cm one are different amounts of work, and our price list says so plainly: 600 AED for the first, 1500 for the second. What no clinic can price is erasure — that is not what scar treatment does.

Scars are not one condition
A scar is what the body builds when it repairs a wound quickly rather than perfectly. How that repair goes wrong splits into several problems, and they are treated in opposite directions.
The types we see
- Atrophic — indented, because too little collagen formed. Chickenpox marks, some surgical scars, most acne scarring.
- Hypertrophic — raised and firm, but staying inside the borders of the original wound. Common after burns, cuts and surgery.
- Keloid — raised and growing beyond the original wound. A different clinical problem with a high recurrence rate.
- Stretch marks — scars in the dermis from skin stretching faster than collagen can follow. Red while fresh, white when mature.
- Contracture — tight scars from burns that restrict movement. Surgical territory, not cosmetic.

Raised scars and keloids go the other way
Everything above adds collagen. Raised scars have too much of it already, so resurfacing them is the wrong direction — and on a keloid it can make things worse.
The American Academy of Dermatology reports that corticosteroid injections reduce a scar by half or more, that between 50 and 80 percent of keloids shrink after injection, and that many of those regrow within five years. Silicone gel and sheets reduce size, hardness, redness and itch, with sheets working better than ointment. On darker skin, the AAD notes injections can leave light spots where they were given.
Tell us if you form keloids. A keloid tendency is listed as a contraindication on our own PicoSure page. It does not mean nothing can be done — it means the plan changes completely, and starting with a resurfacing laser would be a mistake.
Timing matters more than technology
A fresh wound is not ready for a device. While the skin is closing, the useful work is protection: silicone once the wound has sealed, daily sun protection so the scar does not darken permanently, and no tension across the area.
Energy-based treatment waits for the scar to mature, which is measured in months. Starting too early can leave you with a worse scar than the one you began with — the opposite of a shortcut.

What a realistic result looks like
Flatter, softer, closer in colour to the skin around it, less obvious in normal light and in photographs. That is the honest description of a good outcome.
What treatment does not do is return skin to a state where the injury never happened. Scar tissue has a different structure to intact skin, and no laser rewrites that. The gap between those two sentences is where most disappointment in this field lives.

How much does scar removal cost in Dubai?

Which is the best treatment for scars?
The type of scar decides, not the brand of device. Indented scars need collagen rebuilt underneath, so RF microneedling and laser resurfacing lead. Raised and keloid scars need the opposite — flattening, usually with silicone and injections rather than resurfacing. Stretch marks respond to microneedling on the body. One method for all three does not exist.
What is the most effective treatment for scars?
For raised scars the evidence is strongest for corticosteroid injections and silicone. The AAD reports that injections can reduce a scar by half or more, and that silicone gel sheets reduce size, hardness, redness and itch, working better than the ointment form. For indented scars, energy-based resurfacing does the work. A doctor matches the scar to the method at the consultation.
How much does it cost to fix a scar on the leg or body?
The same size-based pricing applies to body areas: the Fotona protocol runs from 600 AED for a small scar up to 1700 AED for a large one, and RF microneedling on the body is quoted per area at the consultation. Body skin is thicker and slower to remodel than the face, so a course is the norm rather than a single visit.
Do scar removal creams work?
Some do, within limits. Silicone gel and silicone sheets have real evidence behind them for raised and healing scars, and the AAD notes that sheets outperform ointments. Sun protection keeps a fresh scar from darkening permanently. What no cream does is rebuild tissue under an indented scar, because the problem sits below the level any topical reaches.
I have keloids. Can you treat them?
Keloids need their own conversation. They grow beyond the original wound, they recur, and resurfacing lasers can make them worse rather than better. The AAD reports that 50 to 80 percent of keloids shrink after corticosteroid injection but many regrow within five years. How soon after surgery or an injury can I start?
Not while the wound is healing. Early care is about protection: silicone once the skin has closed, sun protection, and no tension on the area. Energy-based work waits until the scar has matured, which usually means months rather than weeks. Starting too early risks a worse scar than the one you began with.
Will the scar disappear completely?
No. Treatment makes scars flatter, softer, closer in colour to the skin around them and less obvious in normal light. It does not restore the skin to a state where nothing happened. Any clinic promising erasure is describing a photograph, not a result.
Is treatment safe on darker skin?
It needs adjusted settings and slower courses. Melanin-rich skin responds to heat and injury with pigment, and the AAD also notes that corticosteroid injections can leave light spots on darker skin tones. Both are manageable when the doctor plans for them, and both are why identical protocols for every patient are a bad sign.
Do you treat stretch marks?
Yes — they are scars in the dermis, formed when skin stretches faster than it can build collagen.
