Face contouring (cheekbones/chin/lower third) treatment at MED YU MED Dubai

Face Contouring

Face contouring at MED YU MED Dubai is an injectable dermal filler treatment for cheekbones, chin, jawline and the lower third of the face. The procedure uses hyaluronic acid fillers to restore volume, improve facial proportions and create a more defined, balanced and harmonious profile without surgery.

Face contouring fillers may be selected for patients who want to enhance cheekbone definition, improve chin projection, sharpen the jawline, support the lower third or correct mild asymmetry. The goal is not to change the face completely, but to work with natural anatomy and create a cleaner, more structured facial contour.

At MED YU MED, every facial contouring treatment starts with a doctor’s assessment. The doctor evaluates facial proportions, bone structure, soft tissue volume, asymmetry, smile dynamics, previous filler history and the desired level of correction before selecting the product, volume and injection points.

The clinic uses Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volux and Stylage XL for face contouring. Juvederm Voluma may be selected for cheekbones, chin and mid-face support; Juvederm Volux is often chosen when stronger jawline or chin definition is needed; Stylage XL may be used for volume restoration and structural contouring after doctor assessment.

Face Contouring in Dubai: what the treatment does

Face contouring at MED YU MED Dubai is an injectable dermal filler treatment for cheekbones, chin, jawline and the lower third of the face. The procedure uses hyaluronic acid fillers to restore volume, improve facial proportions and create a more defined, balanced and harmonious profile without surgery.

At MED YU MED, every facial contouring treatment starts with a doctor’s assessment. The doctor evaluates facial proportions, bone structure, soft tissue volume, asymmetry, smile dynamics, previous filler history and the desired level of correction before selecting the product, volume and injection points.

How Face Contouring works

Face contouring fillers may be selected for patients who want to enhance cheekbone definition, improve chin projection, sharpen the jawline, support the lower third or correct mild asymmetry. The goal is not to change the face completely, but to work with natural anatomy and create a cleaner, more structured facial contour.

How a session goes: Face Contouring

  1. Consultation

The doctor evaluates your facial proportions, bone structure, soft tissue and asymmetry, discusses the look you want, reviews your medical history, medications including blood thinners and any allergy to lidocaine or other local anaesthetics, explains the possible risks, and selects the product, volume and injection points.

  2. Preparation

The area is cleansed and topical anaesthetic goes on. The contouring fillers used contain lidocaine for comfort during the injections, so tell the doctor beforehand if you have ever reacted to a local anaesthetic.

  3. Injection

The doctor places the filler at the planned points — cheekbones, chin or jawline — with a needle or a cannula, shaping the contour as they work. A cannula is often preferred in areas with a higher vascular risk, although no technique removes that risk completely. The treatment takes about 30-45 minutes.

  4. Aftercare

Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common. Most of it settles within a few days, but in the chin and jawline it can last one to two weeks. Avoid pressure on the treated zones, heat and intense exercise for 48 hours, and attend the follow-up review so the doctor can assess the final contour.

Results after Face Contouring

The contour is visible straight away, but what you see in the first days is partly swelling: the face can look fuller or slightly uneven at this stage. The shape settles over one to two weeks as swelling clears and the product integrates, and any correction is decided at the follow-up rather than earlier. How long the definition holds depends on the product, the volume placed, the zone and your metabolism — filler is broken down faster in mobile areas such as the chin and jawline, and the doctor confirms the expected duration for the product chosen for you. Hyaluronic acid filler can be adjusted or dissolved with hyaluronidase, which is a separate medical procedure: dissolving is not always complete, may need more than one session, also affects the skin’s own hyaluronic acid and carries a small risk of an allergic reaction. No outcome can be guaranteed, minor asymmetry is normal, and results vary between individuals.

Recovery and aftercare after Face Contouring

Swelling, tenderness, firmness and bruising at the injection points are common, not unusual. Most of it settles within a few days, though in the chin and jawline swelling and bruising can last one to two weeks. Avoid strong pressure, facial massage and sleeping face-down on the treated zones for two weeks, sleep on your back the first night if the doctor advises it, and skip alcohol for 24 hours and saunas, heat and intense exercise for 48 hours. Postpone dental work, facial laser and energy-based treatments for about two weeks unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell any doctor or dentist treating you that you have facial filler. Most people go back to work and everyday activity the same day, within the limits above, and the doctor gives written aftercare instructions.

When to contact us urgently. Filler complications are uncommon, and the ones that count are the ones treated within hours. Call the clinic straight away if pain is severe or building instead of easing, if the skin goes white, blue or dusky or shows a mottled, net-like pattern, if blisters form, or if your vision changes in any way. These need treatment within hours. Over the following days, get in touch if redness and heat increase, if you run a fever, or if a lump appears days or weeks after the session.

How to reach us. In clinic hours that is MED YU MED on +971 52 184 5011, daily 10:00–22:00. Outside them, or if anything on this list is severe or worsening, the nearest emergency department or an ambulance on 998 comes first, not a wait for the clinic to open. Any visual change after a facial injection means an emergency department first, not a wait for us to call back.

Face Contouring: frequently asked questions

How much does face contouring cost in Dubai?

At MED YU MED face contouring starts from 1500 AED per 1 ml (Revolax), with Juvederm Voluma from 2100 AED and multi-syringe packages priced per volume. The total depends on the zones treated and how many millilitres the plan needs, which the doctor confirms at consultation.

How many ml of filler will I need?

It depends on the zones and the starting anatomy: a subtle cheekbone refresh may take 1-2 ml, while full contouring of cheekbones, chin and jawline needs more. The doctor maps the volume at assessment and you approve the plan before any injection.

How long does face contouring last?

It depends on the product, the zone and the volume placed: dense contouring fillers hold their shape longer than softer gels, and filler in mobile areas such as the chin and jawline is broken down faster than in the cheekbones. The doctor confirms the expected duration for the product chosen for you, and a top-up refreshes the definition. Results vary between individuals.

Will my face look natural?

The aim is to work with your own anatomy — cleaner definition and better proportions, not a different face. The doctor selects the product density for each zone and builds the volume gradually, usually across more than one session for larger changes. No outcome can be guaranteed: faces respond differently, and minor asymmetry is normal and is assessed at the two-week review, where the doctor may suggest a small correction. If you are not happy with the shape, hyaluronic acid filler can be adjusted or dissolved by a doctor — a separate procedure that is not always complete and has its own risks.

Does face contouring hurt?

A numbing cream is applied first and the fillers contain lidocaine, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. The treated zones can be tender and feel firm for a few days as the filler settles.

What is the difference between Voluma, Volux and Revolax?

They are hyaluronic acid fillers with different density and lifting capacity: Voluma suits cheekbones and mid-face support, Volux is denser for strong jawline and chin definition, and Revolax is used for volume work. The doctor selects the product for each zone based on your anatomy and the correction planned, not on price.

What are the risks and side effects?

Common and temporary: swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness, firmness or small irregularities that settle as the filler integrates. Less common: asymmetry needing correction, a visible lump or nodule, infection, filler migration, and delayed inflammatory nodules that can appear weeks or months later. Rare but serious: injection into or compression of a blood vessel, which can cause skin damage or, very rarely, visual complications. This is why the treatment is performed by a licensed doctor, and why you must contact the clinic immediately if you have severe pain, skin blanching or discolouration, or any change in vision.
