Cleansing treatment at MED YU MED Dubai

Professional Facial Cleansing

Professional facial cleansing at MED YU MED Dubai is a deep pore cleansing treatment for clogged pores, blackheads, comedones, milium, oily skin and dull complexion. The procedure combines manual extraction of deep impurities with surface cleansing techniques to help the skin look cleaner, smoother and fresher.

Deep cleansing facial may be recommended for patients with enlarged pores, excess sebum, blackheads, whiteheads, skin congestion, uneven tone, dull skin or acne-prone skin at the healing stage. The goal is not aggressive irritation, but controlled cleansing that removes impurities and prepares the skin to absorb professional skincare products more effectively.

At MED YU MED, the specialist assesses the skin condition before treatment: pore congestion, sensitivity, inflammation, acne activity, rosacea tendency, recent procedures and home skincare routine. This helps choose the correct cleansing intensity and decide whether the treatment should be performed as standard combined cleansing, combined cleansing with décolleté, or combined cleansing with PRX-T33 peeling.

For patients with back congestion, blackheads or oily skin on the back, mechanical back cleansing may be selected as a separate treatment. For patients who need both pore cleansing and skin renewal, combined cleansing with PRX-T33 peeling may be recommended after assessment.

  • Clogged pores, blackheads and whiteheads
  • Oily and combination skin that congests easily
  • Dull, rough skin that needs a deep clean and reset
  • Build-up from heat, humidity and heavy sunscreen or makeup
  • Early or mild breakouts driven by congestion
  • A clean base before makeup, an event or other skin treatments

Not a substitute for medical acne treatment — active or severe acne needs a clinical plan.

- Active acne flare with inflamed or pustular lesions in the treatment area
- Active skin infection, herpes or open wounds
- Rosacea flare or very reactive, inflamed skin
- Recent facial procedures (peels, laser), until the skin recovers
- Recent isotretinoin use, after doctor assessment

This list is not exhaustive. Other conditions, medicines and previous treatments may also rule the treatment out or change the plan. Final suitability is determined by a clinician at an in-person assessment.

About the treatment

Facial cleansing in Dubai is more than a spa add-on when it is done as a clinical treatment. At MED YU MED professional facial cleansing is a hygienic, medical-grade deep clean of the skin — clearing blocked pores, blackheads and congestion that home routines and over-the-counter products cannot reach. A trained therapist assesses the skin, softens the surface, then extracts impurities under sterile conditions instead of squeezing at home, which risks marks and infection.

That matters in Dubai's climate, where heat, humidity and air-conditioning leave skin prone to clogged pores and breakouts. The treatment suits oily, combination and congested skin that needs a reset, as well as anyone wanting a clean, refreshed base before other care. It is carried out at a DHA-licensed clinic. Results vary between individuals, and the therapist tailors the steps to your skin at consultation.

How it works

Professional facial cleansing is a structured, multi-step deep clean rather than a single wash. It begins by cleansing and softening the skin — often with steam or a gentle softening step — so the pores open and their contents loosen. The therapist then carries out extractions, clearing blackheads, whiteheads and trapped sebum with controlled technique under sterile conditions, which is the part home cleansing cannot safely replicate.

After extraction, the skin is calmed and protected. A soothing mask, serum or light massage settles any redness, and the surface is left clean, balanced and ready to absorb skincare. Where the skin needs it, the therapist can fold in supporting steps such as light exfoliation. The point of doing this in a clinic is hygiene and judgement — knowing what to extract, what to leave and how to protect the barrier — so the skin clears without the trauma that picking at home causes.

How the session goes

  1. Consultation & Cleanse

The therapist assesses your skin, notes any concerns and sensitivities, and removes makeup and surface debris to prepare the skin.

  2. Softening

Steam or a softening step opens the pores and loosens their contents so extraction is gentle and effective.

  3. Extraction

Blackheads, whiteheads and trapped sebum are cleared with controlled technique under sterile conditions, judging what to extract and what to leave.

  4. Soothe & Protect

A calming mask or serum settles the skin, SPF is applied, and the therapist gives simple aftercare to keep the pores clear.

Results you can expect

Skin looks clearer and feels smoother straight after a cleansing, with pores visibly less congested and a fresher tone once any post-extraction redness settles. For skin that congests easily, a regular cleansing every four to six weeks keeps pores clear and supports other treatments, rather than relying on a single deep clean. The therapist sets the interval to your skin type and how quickly it builds up. A professional cleansing manages and maintains skin clarity; it does not cure medical acne. Results vary between individuals.

Recovery and aftercare

There is little to no downtime. The skin may look slightly pink or show small marks where extractions were done, settling within a few hours to a day. Avoid heavy makeup, strong actives such as retinol or acids, and direct sun for the first day, and use SPF, since freshly cleansed skin is more exposed. The therapist gives simple aftercare so the pores stay clear and the skin barrier recovers comfortably.

Risks and side effects. Extractions press on inflamed skin, so pinkness and small marks where they were done are expected, and they settle within a few hours to a day. Less common: bruising, a spot that becomes more inflamed afterwards, a temporary breakout as congestion clears, and, where a lesion is squeezed too hard, a lasting mark or a small scar. Post-inflammatory pigmentation is more likely on skin types IV to VI and can take weeks to months to fade, which is why extraction is limited rather than exhaustive. One honest point: active, inflamed or cystic acne is a medical condition, not a cleansing problem. A facial does not treat it and squeezing inflamed lesions makes scarring more likely, so where that is what we see, the specialist will say so and refer you for medical acne treatment instead of selling a course of facials.

If something is not right. Call MED YU MED on +971 52 184 5011 (daily 10:00–22:00) if a treated area becomes increasingly painful, hot or swollen, if redness spreads, or if you develop discharge or a fever in the days after a session. Outside our opening hours, go to the nearest emergency department or call 998 for an ambulance — do not wait for the clinic to reopen.

Frequently asked questions

How much does facial cleansing cost in Dubai?

At MED YU MED professional facial cleansing starts from 900 AED. The price depends on the steps your skin needs and any add-ons, so a basic clean costs less than a session with extra exfoliation or treatment masks. A consultation gives you an exact quote.

How is professional cleansing different from a home facial?

A clinical cleansing uses controlled, sterile extraction and a therapist's judgement about what to clear and what to leave, which home routines cannot safely replicate. Squeezing pores at home risks marks, scarring and infection, while a professional clean protects the skin barrier.

How often should I have a facial cleansing?

For skin that congests easily, a cleansing every four to six weeks keeps pores clear and supports other treatments. The therapist sets the interval to your skin type and how quickly it builds up. Results vary between individuals.

Is facial cleansing suitable for acne-prone skin?

It can help mild, congestion-driven breakouts by clearing blocked pores under hygienic conditions. It is not a replacement for medical acne treatment, though — active or severe acne needs a clinical plan, which the therapist will flag at assessment.

Does facial cleansing hurt?

Extractions can feel like mild pressure or a brief pinch rather than pain, and the softening step beforehand makes them gentler. Any redness settles within hours to a day, and there is little to no downtime.

What is the difference between facial cleansing and a HydraFacial?

Facial cleansing is a manual, clinical deep clean with hands-on extractions for congestion, while a HydraFacial uses a device with Vortex-Fusion suction to cleanse and infuse serums in one pass. They suit different needs, and the therapist advises which fits your skin.

What are the risks of a deep cleansing facial?

Pinkness and small marks where extractions were done are expected and settle within a day. Less common: bruising, a spot that flares afterwards, a temporary breakout as congestion clears, and a lasting mark or small scar if a lesion is pressed too hard. Pigmentation after inflammation is more likely on darker skin and can take weeks to months to fade, so extraction is kept limited. If your acne is active, inflamed or cystic, a facial is not the treatment: the specialist will refer you for medical acne care rather than book a course.
