VIVACE

The robotic-insertion RF microneedling platform behind comfortable tightening and texture work at MED YU MED Dubai.

MED YU MED

VIVACE is a radiofrequency microneedling device built for comfort and control by Aesthetics Biomedical in the United States. Thirty-six insulated, gold-tipped needles enter the skin through a motorised, robotic mechanism rather than a hand-driven stamp. That powered insertion is the difference patients notice first: the needles advance at a controlled speed and depth instead of being pushed in by hand.

Once the needles reach depth, they release radiofrequency to heat the dermis and trigger collagen, while the insulation keeps the energy at the tip and the surface takes less heat than it would from an ablative laser. The clinician tunes needle depth and energy to each area; the manufacturer offers 31 depth settings down to 3.5 mm in 0.1 mm steps, which is what allows delicate zones and lax areas to be treated in the same session at different settings.

An integrated LED step follows the needling. Red and blue light run over the treated skin to calm it and support the result: red to settle inflammation and aid recovery, blue at 470 nm to address the bacteria linked with breakouts. It finishes the session without adding downtime of its own.

That combination — controlled insertion, tunable RF and an LED finish — makes VIVACE a steady choice for tightening, refining texture, shrinking pores and softening fine lines. At MED YU MED it runs on the face and neck, including the area around the eyes, and on body areas such as the abdomen, hips, buttocks, knees and hands.

The clinician sometimes presses a serum or PRP into the fresh micro-channels immediately after needling, while the channels are open, to carry active ingredients deeper than they would reach on their own. VIVACE usually runs as a course rather than a single visit, with sessions spaced a few weeks apart.

Comfort is good for a microneedling treatment, helped by numbing cream and the motorised insertion, though sensation varies by area and individual. Downtime stays short: redness for a day or so rather than a true peel, sometimes with a faint grid pattern where the needles ran. It is still a needling treatment that carries heat into the dermis: in October 2025 the US FDA warned that serious complications have been reported with certain uses of RF microneedling devices, including burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement and nerve damage, some needing surgical repair or medical intervention. That is why the clinician reviews your skin, history and any implants, sets the depth per zone and treats the eye area with particular care.

Results build over the months that follow rather than appearing at once, and they vary between individuals. To book, see RF microneedling treatment and prices. For how RF lifting compares across the clinic's platforms, see RF lifting in Dubai: methods and devices.

What This Device Treats

Why This Device at MED YU MED

Medically reviewed by Dr. Ilias Ildarovich Dautov, General Practitioner, Aesthetic Medicine Doctor, Dermatologist, DHA Licence No. 09620692-002. Holds the Vivace RF microneedling training certificate (LifeStyle Aesthetics Group, 24 July 2023). Last reviewed: 16 July 2026.

Treatment performed by clinicians holding the Vivace RF microneedling training certificate from LifeStyle Aesthetics Group: Dr. Ilias Dautov (DHA 09620692-002) and Dr. Zhibek Rakhimbekova (DHA 28857822-001).

How a Session Works

  1. ConsultationSkin assessment, concern review and medical history, including any pacemaker or implanted electronic device, metal implants, fillers or threads, epilepsy and reduced sensitivity to heat or pain. The clinician sets the plan and decides on any serum or PRP.
  2. PreparationThe area is cleansed and numbing cream is applied, then needle depth and energy are set per zone.
  3. TreatmentThe robotic handpiece inserts the needles and delivers RF pass by pass, working shallower over delicate zones and deeper where laxity or scarring sits. Protective eye shields are fitted when the eyelids or the area around the eyes are treated. Usually 30-60 minutes depending on the area.
  4. AftercareThe LED step finishes the session. Expect redness for a day or so, sometimes a faint grid pattern. Sun protection is advised; sessions repeat every few weeks across a short course.

FAQ

What is the VIVACE RF microneedling device?
It is a radiofrequency microneedling system built by Aesthetics Biomedical in the United States. Thirty-six insulated, gold-tipped needles are inserted by a motorised, robotic mechanism, then release RF energy in the dermis while the insulation keeps the surface protected. An LED step follows the needling. At MED YU MED it is used for tightening, texture and pores on the face, neck and body areas.
Does the robotic insertion make VIVACE more comfortable?
The powered insertion advances the needles at a controlled speed and depth, which patients generally find smoother than hand-driven stamping, and the manufacturer offers 31 depth settings down to 3.5 mm in 0.1 mm steps. Numbing cream is applied first. Sensation still varies by area and by person, and it is a needling treatment, not a facial.
What does the LED step do?
After the needling, red and blue light run over the treated skin. Red light is used to settle inflammation and support recovery; blue light, at 470 nm, addresses the bacteria linked with breakouts. It is a finishing step that adds no downtime of its own.
Can VIVACE be combined with PRP or serums?
Yes. The fresh micro-channels can carry a serum or PRP pressed in immediately after needling, while the channels are open. The clinician decides whether that fits your skin and goal at consultation. Results vary between individuals.
How many VIVACE sessions are recommended and is there downtime?
VIVACE usually runs as a course rather than one visit, with sessions spaced a few weeks apart so collagen can rebuild between them. Downtime stays short: redness for a day or so rather than a true peel, sometimes with a faint grid pattern where the needles ran. Serious complications — burns, scarring, fat loss, disfigurement and nerve damage — have been reported with RF microneedling devices, which is why the clinician assesses your suitability and sets the depth and energy per zone. The number of sessions depends on the concern and is set at consultation.
Who should not have VIVACE RF microneedling?
Implanted electronic devices, including a pacemaker, rule out radiofrequency treatment. Tell the clinician before anything else. Beyond that, VIVACE is not performed under the age of 18; during pregnancy or breastfeeding; over active infection, inflammation, open wounds or herpes in the treatment area; on freshly tanned or sunburnt skin or after recent intensive sun exposure; over active dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis or an acute skin flare; with active cancer or ongoing cancer treatment; with uncontrolled chronic, endocrine or autoimmune conditions; with severe uncontrolled diabetes or impaired wound healing; with keloid tendency or abnormal scarring risk; with sensory disorders that reduce sensitivity to heat, pain or temperature; with epilepsy triggered by light or stress factors; with a severe uncontrolled psychiatric or neurological condition; over suspicious skin lesions that need a dermatologist assessment first; or after recent isotretinoin, aggressive laser, peeling or skin trauma in the area. The needles are gold-tipped, so a known allergy to gold or nickel rules the treatment out. A severe acne flare, metal implants, permanent fillers or threads in the area, and blood clotting disorders or anticoagulant use each need a doctor's approval first. A specialist confirms the full list and your suitability at consultation.
