About the HydraFacial device
HydraFacial is built around Vortex-Fusion, which the manufacturer, Hydrafacial LLC of Long Beach, California, calls its proprietary delivery system. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and infuses the skin at the same time using a controlled spiral action, through a dual-channel, closed-loop handpiece that removes debris while it delivers serums.
No needles pierce the skin and nothing is ablated. At MED YU MED the device runs cleansing, exfoliation and hydration protocols for congested, dull or dehydrated skin, and for skin quality before an event or between more intensive treatments.

How Vortex-Fusion works
The treatment is assembled from steps. Hydrafacial lists four core steps: microdermabrasion, peel, extract and hydrate. Three optional add-ons can be layered on top: lymphatic drainage, a booster and LED therapy. Which steps and add-ons a session includes depends on the protocol.
The tips shape the exfoliation. Hydrafacial uses nine patented HydroPeel tips designed to optimise the vortex flow and allow customisable exfoliation, and states that the system helps maximise the absorption of active ingredients.
