Polynucleotide (PDRN) treatment in Dubai: Plinest and Rejuran at MED YU MED
Polynucleotides are injected skin boosters that work on skin quality, not on shape. They are not hyaluronic acid: they are DNA-based preparations, listed in our price list as PDRN, and we carry Plinest and Rejuran in this group. A licensed doctor examines your skin, checks for fish allergy and other reasons to wait, and chooses the product, the area and the plan.

What polynucleotides are, in plain terms
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotides: short fragments of DNA used in aesthetic medicine as injectable skin boosters. Patients search for them as polynucleotides, PDRN or, because the DNA is commonly taken from fish such as salmon, “salmon DNA injections”. They are a different material from hyaluronic acid. A hyaluronic acid booster binds water. A polynucleotide preparation is chosen to work on skin quality by another route.
Both kinds are injected into the skin to change its quality, not to add volume or reshape the face. A line or a hollow that needs filling is a filler question. Our page on skin boosters and fillers explains the difference.
For the science behind PDRN, including where it comes from and how it is studied, read the clinic’s PDRN evidence review.
Plinest and Rejuran at MED YU MED
Polynucleotides are booked through our biorevitalization service, alongside the hyaluronic acid boosters. The doctor selects the product from your skin concern, the treatment area and the result you want. The price list carries these polynucleotide products:
- Plinest (2 ml)
- Plinest Eye (2 ml, PDRN)
- Rejuran S (PDRN)
- Rejuran i (PDRN)
- Rejuran Healer (PDRN)
We do not match each product to a skin problem on this page, because that is a clinical decision made after examination, not a menu choice. Ask the doctor why a product is proposed for you.
Treatment can be done on the face, the under-eye area, the neck, the décolleté, the hands and selected body areas, each after the doctor’s assessment. The under-eye area carries a higher risk of swelling and of vascular complications, so it is treated only after assessment and is not suitable for everyone.
Fish allergy. Most polynucleotide products are made from fish DNA. An allergy to fish may rule out polynucleotide products. Tell the doctor about any fish or seafood allergy before you book a course, and about any reaction to an earlier injectable treatment.
Who polynucleotide treatment may suit
Skin boosters may suit dehydrated, dull skin with fine lines, reduced elasticity, uneven texture or early signs of photoageing. The doctor decides from your skin condition, not from a fixed age. The doctor also checks whether a combination with lasers, peels or PRP makes sense and how to space the visits.
Polynucleotides are not a wrinkle filler or a contouring treatment. If your main concern is volume, a deep fold or facial shape, the plan will look different, and sometimes boosters and fillers are used together: boosters for skin quality, fillers for structure.
How a visit works
Polynucleotides go through the same service as our other skin boosters, so the visit follows the same four steps.
- Consultation. The doctor checks skin hydration, elasticity, sensitivity, inflammation, pigmentation risk, previous procedures, allergies and contraindications. Then the doctor selects the product, the injection technique and the number of sessions.
- Preparation. The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied. The doctor plans the injection points.
- Injection. The doctor places small amounts of the product into the skin with a very fine needle. A skin booster session usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the area and the product.
- Aftercare. The doctor explains what to expect and what to avoid. Keep the skin clean and use SPF.
The doctor sets the number and spacing of sessions, and repeated treatments are typical. We do not quote a fixed number of sessions or a fixed interval here, because that depends on your skin and the product, and the doctor adjusts the plan as your skin responds.
After the session: what to expect
For skin boosters at our clinic, small raised bumps at the injection points usually flatten within 24 to 72 hours and can stay visible for up to a week. Mild redness and the odd pinprick bruise are possible. Bruising around the eyes lasts longer. Avoid make-up, heat, saunas, heavy exercise and direct sun for the rest of the day. These timings describe our skin booster service as a whole. With polynucleotides they may differ, and the doctor tells you what to expect with your product.
Skin quality changes gradually. We do not promise a specific result or a timeline. Results vary from person to person, and the doctor reviews progress with you through the course.
Polynucleotide prices in Dubai
Each product is sold as a single session, a course of three or a course of 4+1. The doctor recommends how many sessions you need after examining your skin, so the table shows the price options, not a treatment plan.

What the evidence shows, and what it does not
We do not repeat the research here. The clinic’s evidence review covers what PDRN is, where it is used and what has been studied. Read it before you decide.
The evidence base for polynucleotides in aesthetic use is limited, and we give you no figures for how much any product improves skin. We do not quote a number of sessions or an interval for Plinest or Rejuran on this page; the doctor sets them for you. We describe polynucleotides as a way to support skin quality. We do not describe them as a way to change your features.
Who should wait, and who needs a doctor’s decision first
Treatment may be suitable if
- You want to improve skin quality, not to add volume or change shape
- Your skin in the area is healthy, with no infection or inflammation
- You have no allergy to fish or to any component of the product
- You can come for a course of visits in Dubai
Not suitable, or needs a doctor’s decision first, if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have an active skin infection, inflammation or herpes at the injection site
- You have an allergy to fish or to any component of the product
- You have a bleeding disorder or take anticoagulants (the doctor assesses first)
- You have an autoimmune or uncontrolled chronic condition (the doctor assesses first)
- You tend to form keloid scars
- You want treatment around the eyes (higher risk of swelling and vascular complications, so only after assessment)
Get urgent help. Call the clinic on +971 52 184 5011 (daily 10:00–22:00) if you notice white or blanched skin, dusky skin, a net-like skin pattern, pain out of proportion to the procedure, spreading redness, heat or fever, or a lump that appears days or weeks after the session. Go to the nearest emergency department or call 998 at once if you have any change in vision, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or a problem outside our opening hours. The clinic is not open around the clock.
This list is not exhaustive. Medicines, previous treatments and your medical history can change the plan. A licensed doctor decides whether treatment is suitable at an in-person assessment.
Risks and side effects
Expected effects are small raised bumps at the injection points, mild redness and occasional bruising. Less common effects are infection at an injection point, an allergic reaction and prolonged swelling. Rarely, a product is injected into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin and, very rarely, affect vision. The risk is highest around the eyes. DHA-licensed doctors perform the injections and explain these risks to you before treatment.
Not sure whether polynucleotides fit your skin?
At the consultation the doctor examines your skin, asks about allergies, medicines and earlier treatments, and tells you whether a polynucleotide booster, a hyaluronic acid booster or another approach fits.
Questions people ask
What are polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides, listed as PDRN, are short DNA fragments used as injectable skin boosters. They are not hyaluronic acid. We carry Plinest and Rejuran in this group, and the doctor chooses the product after examining your skin.
Are polynucleotide injections the same as salmon DNA injections?
Patients use both names for the same kind of treatment, because many of these products are made from fish DNA, often salmon. Plant sources also exist. Because the source matters for allergies, ask the doctor what the product you would receive contains, and mention any fish allergy.
What is the difference between a polynucleotide booster and a hyaluronic acid booster?
They differ in material. A hyaluronic acid booster is based on a sugar molecule that holds water. A polynucleotide is a PDRN preparation that works on skin quality by a different route. Both aim at skin quality, not at volume. The doctor chooses between them from your skin concern.
How many polynucleotide sessions will I need?
The doctor sets the number and spacing of sessions, and repeated treatments are typical. We do not give a fixed number or interval because it depends on your skin and the product. The price list shows a single session, a course of three and a course of 4+1.
Does polynucleotide treatment hurt, and is there downtime?
A numbing cream is applied first and the needle is very fine, so most patients feel small pricks. Small bumps usually flatten within 24 to 72 hours and can last up to a week. Bruising around the eyes lasts longer. Many people return to their usual routine the same day; plan a session a day or two before an event, not on the day itself.
How much does PDRN treatment cost in Dubai?
At MED YU MED a single session costs from 1 650 AED (Rejuran i) to 2 100 AED (Plinest, Plinest Eye and Rejuran Healer); Rejuran S costs 1 850 AED. Courses of three and 4+1 are priced in the table above. The doctor confirms the plan and the cost at the consultation.
Can I have polynucleotides if I am allergic to fish?
An allergy to fish may rule out polynucleotide products. Tell the doctor before you book. If the doctor decides that the treatment is not suitable, a hyaluronic acid booster may be an option instead.
Can polynucleotides be used under the eyes?
Only after a doctor’s assessment. The under-eye area carries a higher risk of swelling and of vascular complications, and treatment there is not suitable for everyone. Any change in vision after a session needs an emergency department or 998.
Is there proof that polynucleotides work?
The evidence base in aesthetic use is limited, and we do not quote numbers. Read the clinic’s PDRN evidence review for what has been studied. Results vary from person to person and cannot be promised.
What are the risks?
Expected: bumps at the injection points, mild redness and occasional bruising. Less common: infection, an allergic reaction and prolonged swelling. Rare but serious: injection into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin and, very rarely, affect vision. For white or dusky skin, a net-like pattern, severe pain, or any change in vision, difficulty swallowing or breathing, call 998 or go to the nearest emergency department.
