Multi-step cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration using the FDA-cleared HydraFacial MD device at a DHA-licensed Dubai clinic.
HydraFacial MD is a patented Vortex-Fusion skin treatment platform developed by the HydraFacial Company (USA). MED YU MED Dubai operates the clinical-grade HydraFacial MD device at our DHA-registered facility on Bluewaters Island.
The treatment uses a single-use, disposable tip system to deliver simultaneous cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and infusion of condition-specific serums. The three-step core protocol — Cleanse + Peel, Extract + Hydrate, Fuse + Protect — is adaptable to all Fitzpatrick skin types and can be completed without anaesthesia or downtime.
Extended protocols are available for specific concerns. The Deluxe protocol incorporates LED light therapy. The Platinum protocol adds manual lymphatic drainage, a targeted booster serum, and LED. Keravive is a dedicated scalp health treatment. Perk is a targeted eye and lip add-on.
A clinical consultation is conducted before treatment to assess skin condition, identify contraindications (active infection, rosacea flare, open wounds, isotretinoin use), and select the appropriate protocol and booster serum.
Patients typically notice immediate improvement in skin texture and radiance. A course of treatments is generally recommended for longer-term results in conditions such as mild pigmentation or enlarged pores. Individual outcomes depend on skin type, lifestyle, and selected protocol. Results may vary.
HydraFacial MD is manufactured by the HydraFacial Company (El Segundo, CA, USA). All device servicing and consumable supply is maintained to manufacturer specifications at MED YU MED.
How HydraFacial works — the three steps
- Cleanse and peel — a gentle chemical exfoliation and mechanical loosening of dead skin cells and surface congestion using a specialised vortex tip
- Extract and hydrate — the vortex suction removes blackheads, whiteheads and other congestion while simultaneously delivering a glycolic/salicylic blend
- Fuse and protect — customised boosters (vitamin C, growth factors, hyaluronic acid or targeted actives) are infused into the freshly cleared skin
Who benefits most
HydraFacial suits a wide range of skin types. It is particularly useful for:
- Congested or oily skin prone to blackheads
- Dehydrated or dull skin needing a hydration boost
- Mild hyperpigmentation and uneven tone
- Pre-event skin preparation — the no-downtime profile makes it popular before weddings, shoots and occasions
- Maintenance between more intensive treatments (lasers, peels, RF procedures)
Serum options at MED YU MED
The physician or therapist selects the serum combination at the start of each session based on your skin assessment that day.
- Hydration boost — hyaluronic acid and peptide blend
- Brightening — vitamin C, kojic acid and niacinamide blend
- Clarifying — salicylic acid and tea-tree targeted at congestion
- Growth factors — CTGF + hyaluronic acid for mature skin
What to expect during the session
The device applies a gentle suction and infusion via a spiral-tip handpiece. There is no snapping, heat or discomfort associated with the tip; most patients describe it as a mild pressure and vacuum sensation, similar to massage.
A standard session runs 30–45 minutes. An extended protocol with LED or peptide booster adds 15–20 minutes. You leave with clean, hydrated, noticeably brighter skin and no visible treatment marks.
Before and after care
- Before: arrive with clean skin; avoid retinoids and strong actives 48 h before; skip waxing the face within 48 h
- After: apply SPF 50 if going outdoors; avoid heavy makeup for the rest of the day if possible; skip exfoliating actives for 24–48 h
- Makeup can be applied immediately if needed
