SMAS lifting at MED YU MED uses the Ultraformer MPT — a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device — to deliver precise energy to the SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) layer, 4.5 mm below the skin surface. This is the same structural layer targeted in surgical facelifts, but reached here non-invasively through focused ultrasound.

The thermal coagulation points created in the SMAS trigger a lifting response and stimulate collagen production in the dermis. The result develops over 2–3 months as the remodelling process completes.
